Proper Attitude Toward Prosperity |
||
| |
Jesus
gave a commandment to "love one another" (John 5:12) That
commandment may seem to have nothing to do with money, yet to have true
prosperity, love must be the guiding force of your life.
It has to be that way for all of us, no exceptions. We
must be quick to apply scriptural principles for living, like these
found in
1 Peter 3:8-9 “Finally, all of you be of one mind, having
compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be
courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on
the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you
may inherit a blessing”. It
is important in these last days to have a healthy relationship and
perspective of God and His Word. This will produce inside us an
understanding of God’s plan to prosper you! It is no longer a great
mystery. He wants all of us to prosper. It
is time that we operate in having more than enough to meet our need and
the need of those we are destined to help. Everyone reaching out to help
someone else is the plan and proper attitude for prosperity. It is about
sharing what we have so all may have. That takes a willing and obedient
heart to want to love enough to even be placed in a position to bless
others. Everything
we do requires faith in God’s ability to do what he has already
promised us, in His Word. It takes faith to be and remain broke. It also
takes faith to live in the supernatural realm of having every need, His
way. 2
Corinthians 9:8 say it best: “And
God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to
you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and
what ever the need, be self-sufficient- possessing enough to require no
aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and
charitable donation.” God
gives us the power and ability to get wealth for covenant purpose.
Prosperity is available, but must be received by faith and used by the
leading of the Holy Ghost. Continue
to study the Word about prosperity and start applying those scriptures
to every part of your life. You
will begin to see the financial aspect of your life start to rise. Faith
for prosperity will be developed just like your faith for healing,
favor, etc., and anything else. I
can tell you today, from the Word of God and from personal experience:
It is definitely God's will for every believer to prosper! That's
why He inspired the Apostle John to write, "Beloved, I wish above
all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul
prospereth" (3 John 2). Note:
John didn't just say, "I want you to prosper." He said,
"I want you to prosper as your soul prospers." He tied
financial prosperity to the prosperity of our mind, will, emotions and
thought-life. God designed
it that way. He knows exactly what He is doing, ha! That is just like a
loving Father who really cares about His children. God's
plan is for us to grow financially as we grow spiritually (3John 2). He
knows it is dangerous to put great wealth into the hands of someone who
is either puffed up in pride or too spiritually immature to handle it.
He desires to protect us, even from our-selves. You
have witness for your-self the lives of countless of people who have
acquired financial riches through this world's system, apart from God.
In most cases, such riches just help people to die younger quicker and
get into more debt and misery. Poverty
has little to do with how much money you have, it has everything to do
with who or what has your love. This has been a life long lesson for me
to learn. If
God has your love (agape love) money can in no way ruin you. But,
disobedience brings a curse with it and many sorrows. Loving
God and obeying Him will yield the proper attitude for money. It will
then only be a tool to be a blessing for the glory of God. What a
revelation! As
we give by the leading of the Holy Ghost, His compassion will consume
us. We willingly and obediently will bless the church, ministries, the
poor, and whatever He tells us. Then it opens up the path for God to
flood you with more and more and more. God deals with increase. He
multiplies in 7, 30, 60, 100 and 1000 times more! But,
you, like myself, must renew your mind as this scripture says, “Beloved,
I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your
soul (mind) prospers”. (3 John 2) The
word “ prosper” in this verse gives the idea of being an action that
continues. So you could say 3 John 2 like this: Beloved, I pray that you
may continually prosper in all things and continually be in good health
AS your mind continually prospers. Think
of every path you take dripping with God’s goodness and abundance
(Psalm 65:11) This
scripture is saying that as you get your mind saturated with the
understanding of God’s Word, you will financially prosper in every
area and be in good health. How
do I know that? Jesus said in Matt. 13: 12 "For whoever has
(understanding), to him more (understanding) will be given, and he will
have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be
taken away from him”. The
subject here is hearing and understanding, or you could say hearing what
the Holy Ghost says until it illuminates and explode into your heart.
People might disagree with you having prosperity. Some may even preach
against it. Be led by the Spirit of God when it come to dealing with
your life…been there, done that. No more! Jesus
took onto Himself your poverty so you (if you follow His principles)
might become rich. When you understand who you are in Christ Jesus and
what He paid for, you will then get a better look at His picture of
prosperity. After all, it is His wealth in the first place and He is
searching for those who qualify them-selves to receive it. Ha! I like
that, don’t you? You and I both have a say so in receiving God’s
prosperity, Hallelujah! Glory to God! Many
years ago, I was led to believe that poverty is next to Godliness or
humility. But the Word of God shows in Deuteronomy 28:15-20 that poverty
is a curse of disobedience. Look at this and let it get to your
heart….deep inside, way down there. In
2 Corinthians 8: 9 “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became
poor, that you through His poverty might become rich”. This is
God’s will and Jesus has already paid for it. Glory to God! The
very basis of true Biblical prosperity is a continual lifestyle built on
Loving God and the Word of God. He must be first and foremost in all we
do. No exceptions. It
is doing whatever God tells you to do, thinking whatever He tells you to
think, and saying whatever He tells you to say. Love Him like that and
He can trust you with millions, even billions of dollars. Why?
Because you have proven that greed and disobedience is no longer inside
you. Perfect Love cast out fear and you are no longer afraid to give
like He instructs you to do. Your mind in no longer focused on lack, but
faith has been developed to the point of believing and receiving that
God told you the truth! His
Word is sure and can always be relied upon to give the results He
promised. He sent His Word and it does not ever return to Him void, but
always accomplishs what He sends it to do. Godly
prosperity is the result of putting God's Word, all of it, not just the
parts about financial prosperity, first place in your life. It comes
when you apply His principles on a continual basis, not just because you
want money, but because Jesus is The Lord of YOUR life and you want to
follow Him. It comes when you start obeying the instructions Jesus gave
us in Matthew 6:32-33 We cannot con Him. He knows out hearts. Listen,
God is not afraid that money will ruin you, but He is concerned that you
will use it to try to fill the love void where He belongs. That is one
of the main reason only a few believers have tapped into the area of
prosperity God’s way. That is about to change! Deliverance
is needed from all that the devil has deceived and tricked us into
keeping and hiding. We were in such a mess until no one could trust us.
And the devil ran around free to torment us not to expose what was
really going on! But praise the living God! The blood of Jesus has
redeemed us!. We
are no longer deceived or ignorant of Satan’s devices. When
we walk in His love and love Him with all our heart, we want to please
Him fully. Stewardship,
giving, integrity, character, honesty and etc. will become by-products
of our loving relationship with Him and His word. He
wants us to prosper, but not without Him or a good understanding of the
purpose for prosperity. He stored up all the benefits and blessings for
us, until we decide to fully obey Him. It
is only when we are ready to love Him more than money enough to handle
it the way He directs us. Then, and only then nothing is left to hinder
finances from flowing through us (you and me). God’s
will is for all of us to prosper. It is all in our attitude towards
prosperity, which translates into our attitude towards God. Do you
really love Him? No one else can decide for you. Choose Love. Choose
God, love and put Him first in all things. Allow Him to prosper you
exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think, according to the
power that works in you. (Ephesians 3:20). Meditate on scriptures
dealing with prosperity and health. You will find your-self speaking and
thinking according to the will of God. When your attitude towards prosperity is good and healthy, then prosperity will come to you in abundance for the glory of God. It requires faith and obedience, no exceptions. Qualify by getting in the Word and spending time listening to the Holy Ghost as He reveals the plan of God to prosper you.
